Francis Is Good Enough For Any Hall Of Fame There Is!
It is not a 'silly' idea to put a movie like 'Francis' in a hall of fame, nor for movies like ma and pa kettle films, these days any movie that doesn't have something you would be ashamed to tell the Lord deserves an award.
Thankfully back then some people had enough sense to recognise a good, clean family film that made you laugh and gave you faith that there's still goodness in the world. Shame on you Spuzz! Three Cheers for Francis, Donald O'Connor, and Ma & Pa!
Hip Hip Hooraye! Hip Hip Hooraye! Hip Hip Hooraye!

Francis Hes Cute!
Fun little trailer for such a, well, unexceptional movie. Its hard to believe that Universal, back in those days was pushing Francis as an entry in the Comedy Hall Of Fame. Well, I guess its not actually, when you see that the other entries were My Man Godfrey, Buck Privates and the Egg and I. Anyways, the first part of this trailer is animated, which is a cute surprise, as a cute cartoon character (Max Fleischer animated??) named Preview Pete finds out that Francis is going into sneak previews! We then go into live action, when the comment cards are coming back with of course, glowing comments. Then a person interviews people coming out of the theater, and they of course, have nothing but positive things to say. Of course you can tell these are actors, and at the time, the studios were such juggernauts that they couldnt get into trouble for it (something of which Columbia Pictures got nailed for a few years ago). The movie scenes are finally doled out.. And what can you say about a talking mule that hasnt been said?
